CHS Six-Word Memoirs

Columbia High School
Write A Six-Word Memoir

We are asking you to write a  six-word memoir. Please post them on this blog.  You can also come to the library and write down yours. We plan to post some around the library. Sign your memoir with your First Name and Last Initial or just say what gender you are and  your grade  (9th grade, 10th grade  …). You are welcome to write more then one.

If you are looking for inspiration, check out some of the posted examples.  You can also come to the library and check out the books I Can’t Keep My Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous & Obscure and Not Quite What I Was: Planning Six – Word Memoirs by Famous and Obscure Writers. Both books are published by Smith Magazine and inspired us to create this project.

Here are some examples from faculty, staff and students:

Random act of laziness, totally worthwhile -  Male, 10th grade

Here today; down-the-shore tomorrow! – Roseann V.

My life is serendipty personifies – luck – Mollie W.

Can’t read as kid: Now librarian – Elissa M.

Hate school. Love Life. Now What? – Anna R.

Post yours in the comment box below.

Remember to sign your memoir with either your First Name and Last Inital or Male or Female and  your grade.

Enjoy!
